What the Program will Deliver

A comprehensive, experiential and interactive 8 week online program with Ian Gawler  

    • Personal instruction and guided practices with Ian Gawler, live, online for 1.5 hours each Thursday for 8 weeks.
    • Email reminders each week with the Zoom link, plus key points from the previous session.
    • The opportunity to discuss and learn with other participants through regular interactive sessions.
    • Question and answer sessions with Ian Gawler each week.
    • Access to revisit the recording of each session for 3 months.
    • Certificates of Attendance will only be supplied upon request. Check with your Professional Body; this program may qualify for Ongoing Professional Development.

What is the Program Content?

A gentle mix of meditation and contemplation; the theory and guided practice

Meditation

A gentle blend of meditation theory and practice will be woven throughout the program; providing the opportunity to learn more, practice together, and experience the deep natural peace, the heightened awareness, and the clarity that only meditation can bring.

Contemplation

Then with the contemplation; we begin with critical thinking skills; so important in this age of information overload, distorted facts and biased opinions. We delve into the different types of logic and how to use them to good effect; we explore the differences between insight and intuition and learn how to access them both reliably.

Next, how to connect with our own inner wisdom? We explore the age-old quest for truth… What is truth? How do we know who or what to believe? Relative truth? Absolute truth? Is there even such a thing as an absolute truth, and if so, how can it be accessed?

Then finally, we put all this together. A more authentic person? More able to embody the ideas and truths you hold to? By using the techniques we have studied and practised throughout this course, we arrive at a place of mental clarity, ease of decision making, confidence in our choices and a heightened capacity to live the person we want to be.

About Dr Ian Gawler OAM BVSc MCounsHS

Ian has played a significant part in popularising meditation and Mind-Body Medicine in the western world. Ian is a retired veterinarian, long term cancer survivor and international bestselling author who has written and taught widely on meditation for over 40 years.

He has had many great teachers and since 1985 has focused upon Tibetan Buddhism and the Dzogchen tradition under Sogyal Rinpoche, the author of the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. Ian has also played an active role in the interfaith movement and was instrumental in establishing the Centres for Contemplative Studies at both Melbourne and Monash Universities.

With a gift for translating ancient wisdom into a modern context, Ian is known for his clarity and humour. He is author of SIX bestselling books, the latest, Blue Sky Mind.

Ian was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his services to the community.

Each Allevi8 Circle teaching and practice session focuses upon a theme featured in the Allevi8 app and is led by an expert Allevi8 meditation mentor (with Meditation Australia accreditation) who share their knowledge and insightful lived experience.

Personal Mentoring ($880 inc GST) featuring:

  • Five 1:1 fifty minute online sessions over 8 weeks with an Allevi8 meditation mentor
  • A structured program specifically designed for beginners and the experienced to lead you into a deep, direct and more satisfying experience of meditation
